I have about one month to submit my book proposal to Hay House Publishing for a chance to win a $10,000 advance and to have my book published with Hay House (www.hayhouse.com/event_details.php?event_id=1510). I am excited, anxious, and even patient. But one thing that I am not is stressed. A few years ago, I probably would have been crying by now as I have so much on my plate. I teach in the day and I am a writer by night. You think I would be completely overwhelmed and I am not. Thank God.
No doubt, I feel like I am in school again. It feels as though I am writing my comps paper, but only this time it’s for my passion and dream. I am not only leaning a lot, but I am also enjoying the process. The challenging part of the book proposal has to be the editing of the chapter or chapters to be submitted as it is quite extensive. I have this month to fine-tune this book proposal and I intend to do just that!
Writing a book itself is not difficult. By no means is it a walk in the park either; it is a lot of work. But, all you need is time, the commitment, and discipline to write every day. If you ever thought about writing a book, then today would be a good day to start! Everyone has a story, what’s yours? Also, if you have started to write a book and you are ready to write a book proposal, you can take a look at Mychael Hyatt’s ebook: Writing a Winning Non- Fiction Book Proposal.
